The Longyan Grand Canyon Scenic Area liesin Kongshi Township, Xiyang County, on the western main ridge of the middle Taihang Mountains at the Shanxi-Hebei border, and belongs to China's famous Zhangshi Rock red quartz sandstone landform. Boasting abundant ecological resources, the scenic area is covered with interwoven primeval forests and alpine meadows with a forest coverage rate of over 92%, reputed as the "Shanxi-Hebei Oxygen Bar".
